How I lost 100 pounds by getting in De Nial

I joke a lot about how I lost 100 pounds when I got out of De Nial and not the river! When I quit closing my eyes to my obesity and started opening myself to weight loss, I found it! But there are times when denial is good for weight loss. Self-denial or denying yourself certain foods is how I lost 100 pounds.

Denying yourself is not once and for all. It's choosing many times a day, to avoid sugary treats, fried and fatty foods and salty snacks and make healthier food swaps. Yes, it sometimes feels like a constant battle. But I prefer to call it a challenge. Every time I refuse the temptation to eat or even buy a Cadbury creme egg, and have the grapefruit instead, I remind myself that I'm one step toward healing obesity.

There's a lot of psychology in diet. I call it mind over platter. These challenges of willpower may seem small but actually, learning self-control nets monumental results in weight loss but also mental health. These tiny "head talks" are how I lost 100 pounds.
