How I lost 100 pounds while doing sedentary work from home

Hello friends of this blog on how I lost 100 pounds without gastric bypass or weight loss drugs. Yesterday I shared how I lost 100 pounds ditching the sedentary job and by doing more active work shopping for Shipt. The truth is, I actually lost weight while still doing computer-based sedentary work from home. And now, working for Shipt is how I maintain weight loss. I promised in my last post to share how to lose weight despite working a desk job or doing remote work from home.

Part of how I lost 100 pounds did not include gastric bypass but I did follow a similar 1200 calorie diet as bariatric surgery patients. The show "My 600-lb Life" depicts folks with morbid obesity learning to amend calorie intake with this 1200 calorie diet. While obesity wasn't to the level as those on "My 600-lb Life" I was overweight and getting more overweight each month (literally, weight gain was a snowball effect, once I began getting more overweight).

I didn't use gastric bypass or a weight loss drug but I did use some herbal appetite suppressants  including:

--apple cider vinegar

--raspberry ketones

--garcinia cambogia

--green tea capsules

I also dejunked the house of temptation. Dr. Now of "My 600-lb Life" recommends this. I quit buying sweets and salty snacks and switched to low calorie butter, mayo, bread, milk and other staples. I added more protein and vegetables to my diet. This way I could feel full even when on the 1200 calorie diet. These and other diet changes were how I lost 100 pounds without gastric bypass while working at home and doing sedentary work.

Stay tuned for more.

How I lost 100 pounds with #1 weight loss supplement (and also #2,3,4 and 5)

Hey friends of this blog on how I lost 100 pounds. Today's weight loss post is a tip within a tip. I've embedded the essential one within an advertisement because ads are how we make money in the blogosphere.  Helps on mental health (which is the core of weight gain, obesity and weight loss) are unfortunately not as easy for search engines to monetize. But don't worry, both the essence and the wrapping paper are helpful.

I hear a lot of old-timers say that young people only want things they can buy. "Good old-fashioned" advice to DIY or save money falls on deaf ears (they say). But I'm guessing most of you (young and old) read this blog for the DIY, the self-help and the mental health bits. The free bits that cost nothing.

Sure, on some level, we'd all like a magic bean we can buy that will lose weight with no calorie restricting or diet change. But we're also smart enough to know that lack of discipline was part of how we got to morbid obesity and for me, doing the hard work was how I lost 100 pounds.

That's the core of this post, that calorie restricting is the only real path to weight loss. That's the part that can't be sold because it's just common sense and it's something no one, no doctor, personal trainer nor nothing, no diet pill, canned diet program, gastric bypass surgery can do for me.

But there's still a magic bean that while it won't lose weight alone can really help. So the candy coating, the marketable part is how I lost 100 pounds with this #1 weight loss supplement and also, if you act now, you get numbers 2,3,4 and 5 for free. My weight loss supplements of choice are:

garcinia cambogia (appetite suppressant)

green tea (metabolism booster)

apple cider vinegar (fat burner, appetite suppressant)

raspberry ketones (appetite suppressant, fat burner)

cinnamon capsules (sugar blocker, metabolism booster)

There you have it. For those who want to buy stuff, get these weight loss supplements at Amazon, Walmart or your local grocery store. For those who just want the DIY, start calorie restricting. For best results, try both as metabolism boosters and appetite suppressant make calorie restricting a lot easier.

Covid 19 vaccine, weight loss, exhaustion, anemia, depression and metabolism issues

Hello friends, just an update on my experience with Covid 19 illness, followed by vaccine side effects. For the past two months, I've been struggling with weight loss, depression, anemia, exhaustion and metabolism issues. I'm not sure if they're lingering effects of Covid, the Pfizer Covid 19 vaccine, restarting my 1200 calorie diet, all of the above or none.

I'm tired all the time since contacting Covid in mid May. All the other symptoms, besides exhaustion, were under control (fever, dehydration, weight loss, lack of hunger, aches, cough, headache, nausea, diarrhea) so I went ahead and had the two-prong Pfizer Covid 19 vaccine. Since then, I have no energy. I'm tired most of the time and can barely walk outside without feeling exhausted. I suspect, but haven't been tested for, anemia problems. I also get cold very easily which tells me it's a metabolism thing.

I also restarted the 1200 calorie diet to lose weight gained during shoulder surgery recuperation. As I've said before, though, a 1200 calorie diet is probably closer to 800 calories per day. I'm not hungry and food just doesn't taste as good. I do take garcinia cambogia, raspberry ketones and green tea, so I'm losing body fat and getting leaner. But actual weight loss has stalled.  That's another pointer to metabolism issues.

You'd think the green tea at least would give me energy. I'm not sure about the raspberry ketones. I  know both are antioxidants, which do boost metabolism and energy. I also take B12 but am thinking of switching to B-complex. For the anemia, I'm adding iron supplements and we'll see if that helps.

I have had sleep apnea which was controlled with weight loss and CPAP. I no longer use the CPAP for sleep apnea because it caused sinus problems, but I wonder if I should restart. Oh and the chronic nightmares have been off the charts, so clearly I'm not sleeping right. But husband says my sleep apnea snoring is better, so IDK.

Right now, I'm less concerned about weight loss than getting my energy level back up. Quite frankly, this exhaustion scares me. I went through decades of untreated and mistreated depression and anxiety. I got overweight and then obese. But to treat obesity, I had to treat these other issues and vice versa. Now that obesity is no longer a problem, I'm just not sure. Maybe it's one of the lingering effects of Covid that I'll just have to live with.

I'll keep you posted. If you have any ideas, please share. Thanks in advance. <3

How I lost 100 pounds with weight loss supplements, appetite suppressants and fat burners

I've been blogging about how I lost 100 pounds without gastric bypass or any other bariatric surgery. I'm happy to share weight loss tips but there's one that I'm hesitant about: appetite suppressants and diet supplements.  But people want to know how I lost 100 pounds and kept it off and diet supplements did help. I'm not talking about drugs to lose weight, but natural, mostly fruit, supplements.

There are several reasons that I don't talk much about weight loss supplements and fat burners. I don't want anyone using them on my recommendation and then having problems. I also don't want it to sound as if diet supplements are magic and that there's nothing else to weight loss. The biggest parts will always be diet, exercise, calorie counting and portion control. But there are a few diet supplements that helped and here they are.

* Green tea: This fat burner is an appetite suppressant that aids weight loss. I've tried green coffee bean but that was too much caffeine for me. Another ingredient that while natural can cause issues is guarana. If you have trouble with caffeine, don't take the full amount.

* Acai: This fat burners supplement works great as a system cleanse. Without being graphic, let's just say it purges me and keeps me regular!

* Berry blends: Different manufacturers use various berry and fruit combinations: blueberry, bilberry, cranberry, raspberry, capsicum. I've used most all types and they each work well as fat burners (because of the seeds) and antioxidants.

* Yerba mate leaf: I've tried green tea blends without yerba mate and they don't seem to work as well to lose weight.

* Uva-Ursi leaf: I'm not sure exactly what this herb does, but I know that I have been able to lose weight using weight loss supplement that contain it.

*apple cider vinegar is a great fat burner and appetite suppressant

* Coconut oil also known as MCT or CLA fat burner

* Garcinia cambogia appetite suppressant

* Raspberry ketones fat burner

* White kidney bean and cinnamon to neutralize carbs and sugar

* Fruit and vegetable supplement: There are many varieties on the market. My favorite is Sundown Whole Food Multi. It's got all the letter vitamins, plus blends of green food, probiotics, omega, digestive enzymes, herb, fruit, vegetable and mushroom blend. It's the cheapest compared to Vita-Life, Alive or Your Life.

I'd rather be overweight than look it: weight loss vs. fat burning

I've been blogging about how I lost 100 pounds a few years ago. Now I'm trying to lose weight again. Happily, I'm not obese this time, but I am overweight. Weirdly, despite the scale only showing a little weight loss, I look smaller. And I realized, if I had to choose one or the other, I'd rather be overweight than look it. Let me explain.

In this second round, the challenge to lose weight has been made more difficult. I'm not as active due to shoulder surgery followed by Covid 19. But although I've only lost a few pounds, I've lost fat in several areas. I think this is because my goal is fat burning vs. simple weight loss. Here's why.

By volume, muscle weighs more than fat. A person may be overweight, even be nearing obese with the usual BMI algorithm, but still not have much noticeable fat. BMI measures body mass index, not body fat. Obese is just a categorical word. Neither are necessarily true indicators of size. So I decided that fat burning was more important than the number on the scale.

I've seen what weight loss without fat burning looks like. Gastric bypass surgery alone doesn't lose weight let alone fat. Even with diet and exercise, gastric bypass weight loss surgery often leaves the body saggy. I want to look trimmer. I want my clothes to fit better.

And that can be done without gastric bypass. Part of how I lost 100 pounds was to aim for fat burning with keto diet and supplements like apple cider vinegar and raspberry ketones. I'm going to work on looking smaller and I think the BMI and scale number will catch up.

I regained some weight lost: The good, bad and great news about starting over

GAH!! I knew it was bound to happen. After losing 100 pounds, I've regained some weight lost and bumped up a size. I haven't gained that much. The top picture is recent and the bottom was prior to any weight loss. But I'm still pretty disappointed.

I promised you "reals" and "feels" on this blog--honesty, real time updates and genuine feelings, not schmaltzy-fake happy ever afters. I don't know about you but I'd rather have sincere negativity once in awhile than fakey positivity and rainbow sprinkle pony poop all the time. That last term was coined by a dear writer friend who found life unbearable and said her goodbyes a few years ago. I miss ya, girlfriend 😭.  See, I promised ya truth.

And truth is, right now, I could kick myself. If  I wasn't in so much pain, LOL. I had shoulder surgery a month ago and I knew I was probs going to gain some weight. I have to eat a bunch of protein to heal the multiple injuries. But I'm sitting on mah butt a lot cuz too much movement makes it hurt like an Andreych Sonovabitch.

I knew I was gaining back some weight prior to this. I don't know how much because they always weigh me with all my clothes and boots on. Not that this accounts for all the weight gain. But it is pretty inaccurate. The biggest reason is that I frankly don't want to know. I know I've written a lot about being honest about weight. Part of the reason I put on weight is because I refused accept how big I was getting.

However, after losing, I hit a plateau and then I bounced up a little as you often do after big weight loss. And I began doing a very physically exerting job. So I did build muscle which as we know weighs more than fat. Again, though, probably only enough only to account for 5 lbs. Also, I lend more credence to clothing fit and how I look in the mirror than weight. So as I'm now more self-aware, getting on the scale all the time was just discouraging.

I now have to accept that I'm bigger in the stomach and thighs. Thighs are pretty firm, tummy not at all. And I admit that I have not been following any kind of calorie counting. Having to eat more protein doesn't mean candy, chips and lasagna. I can't have it both ways--ignoring the scale and the diet. Otherwise it won't just be 20 or 30 pounds but 100 I'll have to re-lose. So that's the bad news.

The good news is that I caught it in time to do something about it. The great news is that I know what I need to do and I'm getting busy doing it. I remember how I lost 100 pounds and what worked last time, will work again. I'm back to 1,200 calories a day. I've dug out my diet recipes and restarted my light version food swaps. I got back on the fat burner MCT (medium chain triglycerides or coconut oil) apple cider vinegar, green tea, raspberry ketones and cinnamon (sugar blocker). I've purged the junk snacks, sweets and wine. It will be a little harder because I'm so sedentary. But I got this. I'd like to lose 20 pounds by June 1. I'll let you know how it goes.

Love to you all 💓💓

P.S. The tricky part will be to avoid falling into the self-loathing that I so easily stumble over. I'll keep you posted on how that goes too. 🙏
